HearRelay

Last updated: June 12, 2026

Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of HearRelay (the “App”), an iOS / iPadOS application provided by CONEX, K.K. (“we”, “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

License

We grant you a non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). Where these Terms and the Standard EULA conflict, these Terms prevail with respect to the App, except for the provisions that name Apple as a beneficiary.

Pricing, trial, and refunds

  • The App offers a 14-day free trial of all features (it is not an auto-renewing subscription).
  • Continued use after the trial is via a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase ($4.99; prices vary by region). A single purchase unlocks the features permanently for as long as you are signed in to the same Apple Account.
  • Family Sharing and “Restore Purchases” are supported.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple through Apple’s standard process (reportaproblem.apple.com); we do not receive billing information. This does not limit any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under applicable law.

Important notice on safe and lawful use

The App is not a safety device, medical device, emergency-response device, security alarm, childcare-safety device, safety device for the elderly or those requiring care, or a life-support device. It is a general consumer utility for supplementary monitoring and must not be used as the sole means of supervision, watch-keeping, anomaly detection, or emergency response.

  • Laws on recording and live monitoring vary by region and may require the consent of everyone involved.
  • Do not monitor or record conversations or private spaces unless you have confirmed it is legally permitted. Where the person recording is not a party to the conversation, stricter consent and legal requirements may apply.
  • You are solely responsible for lawful use.

Prohibited conduct

You must not use the App to:

  • Engage in unlawful eavesdropping, covert recording, or unauthorized surveillance
  • Infringe others’ privacy, likeness, or secrecy of communications
  • Reverse-engineer, copy, redistribute, or modify the App (except as permitted by applicable law)
  • Infringe the rights of us or any third party

Intellectual property

All rights in the App and its associated trademarks, logos, and content belong to us or the respective rights holders. This license does not transfer any of those rights to you.

Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided AS IS. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and continuous, error-free, or uninterrupted operation. Operation may be limited by your OS, network, headphones, or other environment.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, loss of data, or damages arising from any failure of monitoring or detection, in connection with your use of or inability to use the App. This reflects that the App is not intended for safety or emergency use.

Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple.

  • We, not Apple, are responsible for the App and its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
  • If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if applicable). To the extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation.
  • We are responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the App, including product-liability, legal-compliance, and consumer-protection claims.
  • We are responsible for investigating, defending, settling, and discharging any third-party claim that the App infringes that party’s intellectual property rights.
  • Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance, Apple will have the right to enforce these Terms against you.
  • You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government prohibited or restricted-party list.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance. This does not override any rights granted by mandatory consumer-protection laws of your place of residence.

Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as needed. If there are material changes, we will note them on this page and in the App’s update notes. Continued use of the App after a revision constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
